This 3 Ingredients Golden Bread recipe, also known as French toast or pain dore, is ready in 11 minutes and only requires a few ingredients you probably already have at home. The origin of the whimsical name "golden bread" comes from the delicate color the bread takes on after it is toasted and drizzled with amber maple syrup. Simple and delicious, couldn't ask for a more perfect breakfast.

Ingrédients
  

  • 2 slices of whole wheat bread
  • 1 egg
  • 2-3 tbsp soy milk

Possible toppings (be creative!)

  • Fruits
  • Maple syrup
  • Peanut butter
  • Yogurt
  • Cottage cheese
  • Nuts and seeds
  • Cinnamon

Instructions
 

  • Beat the egg and the soy milk together. Place the slices of bread into the egg mixture and turn them over to coat both sides.
  • Cook the 2 slices of soaked bread for about 3 minutes over medium heat. Flip over and cook for another 3 minutes or until golden. Oil is optional in this recipe if you have an non stick pan.
  • Enjoy!
