This Honey Beer Bread is incredibly moist and delightful! It is a simple quick bread that requires only 6 ingredients, no yeast, no kneading and no waiting. It can't get any easier! This isn't your typical bread recipe. The beer gives the bread a bit of a bitter taste which is then perfectly balanced by a hint of sweetness from the honey. In less than an hour, you will obtain the most delicious, cozy and comforting beer bread you'll ever eat!

  • 4 cups whole wheat flour
  • 2 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp coarse salt
  • 2 cups beer
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup olive oil divided


  • Place a Dutch oven in the oven while preheating to 500°F.
  • In a large mixing bowl, stir together the flour, baking powder and salt until combined. Slowly pour the beer, honey and half of the olive oil into the flour mixture, and stir with a metal spoon until combined.
  • Once the oven has reached 500°F, oil your hands and smoothen up the dough to form a nice ball. Take out the Dutch oven and transfer the dough inside. Then pour the remaining olive oil on top of the batter.
  • Bake covered for 20 min at 500°F. Then, remove the lid and bake uncovered for 10-15 min at 450°F, until a dark golden crust is formed.
  • Allow to cool completely on a cooling grid before slicing.
