Seitan Vegan Ground Beef
My new obsession with this recipe cannot be tamed. The texture and taste of this faux-meat is simply unbelievable. The next time you are looking for a less processed ground "beef" substitute compared to the commercially-available versions, try this recipe. It's super simple and insanely delicious!
- 1 1/2 cups gluten flour
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1/4 cup chickpea flour
- 1/4 cup nutritional yeast
- 5 garlic cloves minced
- 2 tbsp steak seasoning
- 1 tbsp smoked paprika
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
Bring a large pot of water to a boil.
In the meanwhile, place all the ingredients into a food processor. Pulse until a hard dough is formed and ends up spinning around the post.
Transfer the dough into the water pot and simmer for 30 minutes.
Drain the dough and transfer it back into the food processor. Pulse until coarsely ground.
Incorporate it into your favorite recipes just like any regular ground meat and enjoy!
